Computer Lab Rules

The Computer Lab is designated for use by beneficiaries of the Hawaii Electricians Training Fund.  By using any computer or equipment in the Computer Lab, users agree to abide by these rules.

1.    Wash your hands before entering the computer lab.

2.    No food or drinks near the computer keyboard.  Users are responsible for cleaning up after themselves.

3.    Behavior and activities that disturb other users or disrupt the operations of the lab are not allowed.  This includes, but is not limited to physical activities such as “rough housing,” loud music, etc.

4.    Mobile phones must be kept in silent mode while in the classroom.

5.    If using the lab for a class, pay attention to the instructor or the speaker, not the computer.

6.    Computers and peripherals are not to be moved or reconfigured without approval by the Training Office.  Only use your assigned computer.

7.    Users may not install, modify, or remove any software on lab computers.

8.    Do not change the settings on lab computers.

9.    Do not access another computer system without consent or authorization.  In other words, no hacking!

10.  Do not use phishing or social engineering to trick users into revealing their passwords or personal information.  Report cyberbullying to the instructor or the Training Office.

11.  Using lab computers for the reproduction of any copyrighted material (e.g. software, music, video, books, photographs, etc.) is prohibited.

12.  Do not go on social media sites, gaming websites, or sites unrelated to the class subject.

13.  Do not display offensive or sexually explicit graphics.

14.  The use of tobacco products or vapes are not allowed in classrooms and computer labs.

15.  Remember to save before shutting down the computer when you are done using any lab computer.  The Training Office cannot be held responsible for the protection of your account or data loss if you leave the computer logged in.

16.  Violation of any of the above rules may result in disciplinary action and the loss of lab privileges.
